New nanoscience resource for students
10/11/2015The Australian Academy of Science’s site ‘Nova’ offers interesting material for teachers and students.
‘There’s a lot to be curious about,’ starts the introductory page on the website Nova.
Managed by the Australian Academy of Science, the site was established in 1997 and aims to provide accessible science information on a wide range of scientific topics.
Nova has recently added a section on nanoscience, which makes an interesting field of research for secondary school students.
The study of structures and materials on an ultra-small scale, nanotechnology has the potential to revolutionise a diverse range of fields, such as medical care and environmental protection.
The Nova site features clearly-written and designed information on nanotechnology, including a helpful page map for easy navigation.
Students will also find information on many other scienctific disciplines, including immunisations, food security, climate change, stem cell research and astronomy, to name a few.
Primary Connections features specially-developed resources for primary students and teachers.
Science by Doing is a collection of experience-rich student and teacher resources.
