Let's bee aware

September is Bee Aware Month. How are you and your students marking it?

beesThis September is Bee Aware Month.

New Zealand schools are being asked to enter the Feed the Bees school photo competition, which promotes the importance of bees. Entries close 8am, Monday September 21.

Ideas could be to hold a Bee Aware Month dress up day, dedicate a section of your school to a bee-friendly garden, get a beekeeper in to your school to talk about bees and why they’re so important, or make a video on the importance of bees to share with the school.

Then take a picture of your initiative and your school could be in to win a gardening voucher from Palmers, and the top 10 pictures will be posted on the National Beekeepers Association website and printed in the NZ Beekeeper Journal.
